Getting Started
Once you contact me by either phone or email, we will set up a brief phone meeting to discuss your concerns. If my approach to cognitive behavioral therapy seems to be the most effective treatment, we will set up a first appointment. Prior to your first appointment, you will receive an email from me with an intake packet. Kindly print, review and complete these forms before your first appointment.
First Appointment
The purpose of the first appointment is to better understand your concerns and get to know and feel comfortable with each other. Together, we will define your goals and what you want out of treatment. We will also clarify how CBT will allow you to accomplish your goals. From there, you can decide if you would like to pursue treatment and set up a weekly appointment. Over the first few sessions, I will lay out an individualized treatment plan to help you to overcome your barriers and move towards your goals.
Insurance and Fees
I do not accept any insurance. Some insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that may allow you to submit claims for reimbursement. I will provide you with a statement in a "ready-to-go" format that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. You can check with your insurance provider to clarify your specific mental health coverage.
Please contact me for information about my current rates.
Treatment duration
The length of treatment various based on a number of factors, including the individual and the treatment goals. Individuals with specific goals may benefit from a short course of treatment (8-12 sessions). Others may prefer long-term therapy for complex issues or multiple problems. We will discuss the course and length of treatment in our initial sessions and we will re-evaluate your needs periodically.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. Please provide as much notice as possible if you are unable to make a session or need to re-schedule. Sessions that are cancelled with less than 24-hour notice will be charged in full.
